Tennis LADDERS
Singles & Mixed Doubles
As you may be aware, there is a growing interest amongst our club members in developing a competitive branch of the Mission Tennis Club. To answer that call we have organized a singles and mixed doubles tennis ladder to grow the popularity of tennis in the city of Mission, BC. The idea is to get people out, competing and having fun! With the current pandemic, we ask that people read the safety plan on the front page to inform you on ways to mitigate your risk. Here is also a Tennis Canada link that you can read to further inform yourself: http://www.tenniscanada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Post-covid-Recommandations-Joueurs-ENG_compressed.pdf
HOW TO JOIN
For anyone looking to play singles or mixed doubles tennis in Mission, BC, this is the ladder to join. Please email Cameron at [email protected] with your name and phone number. It is beneficial to become a member of the Mission Tennis Club in order to play in either of the ladders ($45 for individuals, $75 for couples which can be e-transferred to [email protected]). There is no extra cost to join either of the ladders and there will be prizes at the end of the year.
Once Cameron has your email and phone number he will then add you to TennisRungs app so that you can challenge other players/teams in the ladder. You will be responsible for contacting your opponent(s) and organizing a time appropriate for both players/teams to play the match. You can play your matches during Mission Tennis Club scheduled times or organize a match outside of those hours both players/teams agree. After each match is complete, you are responsible for entering your score into the TennisRungs app, which will adjust the rankings automatically.
The season began in April 2021 and will likely run until the end of August (depending on how things go we may adjust the end date and let everyone know). If you decide to join after the start date, you will start at the bottom of the ladder and can work your way up from there. At the end of August we will structure a bracket tournament to see who comes out as number 1! We hope to have as many players join as possible to add to the caliber and competition of the ladder. Whether you are male or female, a person with a disability or one without, beginner or advanced, everyone is welcome.
